💙 Well-being at OTR International School
Supporting every child’s physical, emotional, and mental health — every day

At OTR International School, student well-being is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, healthy, and supported. Our comprehensive approach to well-being ensures that every student is cared for in a nurturing, attentive, and respectful environment.

đŸ„ Full-time Nurse on site

Our school is proud to have a full-time qualified nurse on site every day. She plays a vital role in the life of the school by:

  • Providing immediate care for injuries or illnesses.
  • Managing individual medical needs (allergies, medications, care plans).
  • Monitoring general student health in partnership with families.
  • Offering a calm and comforting space when students need emotional support.

The school infirmary is a safe and welcoming place where students are listened to, respected, and cared for.

🎓 Health & Well-being Workshops

Beyond her medical responsibilities, our school nurse also leads age-appropriate health and well-being workshops throughout the year. These sessions are integrated into the curriculum and cover key topics such as:

  • đŸ§ŒÂ Personal hygiene, healthy eating, and sleep habits
  • 💬 Emotional awareness and communication
  • 🧠 Mental health: recognizing stress, building self-confidence, and empathy
  • đŸš«Â Risk prevention (age-appropriate topics for upper grades)
  • 🆘 Basic first aid skills and emergency awareness

These interactive sessions empower students to develop a strong sense of self-care, personal responsibility, and respect for others.

đŸ€ A Collaborative Approach

Our nurse works closely with teachers, leadership staff, and support teams to:

  • Identify students who may need extra care or emotional support.
  • Implement individualized health or support plans.
  • Promote a shared culture of well-being, kindness, and inclusion across the school.

đŸ›Ąïž A Safe, Caring, and Positive School Environment

At OTR, well-being goes far beyond physical health. We are committed to creating an environment where students can:

  • Feel respected, valued, and heard.
  • Build healthy peer relationships.
  • Learn and grow in safe, well-designed spaces.
  • Develop life skills through social-emotional learning and community engagement.

💬 Because Every Child Matters

We believe that caring for our students’ well-being is the foundation of their success â€” in school and in life. Our approach is proactive, holistic, and grounded in human connection.
